How I Think About Therapy

Most people come to therapy trying to solve something — a conflict, a pattern, a feeling that won’t go away.

But lasting change rarely comes from forcing solutions. It comes from understanding what’s actually driving those patterns in the first place.

My approach is less about directing you toward an outcome, and more about helping you see clearly enough to decide what actually fits.

Clarity, not advice

I don’t see my role as telling you what to do. Instead, we focus on making sense of what’s happening beneath the surface — so your decisions come from clarity, not pressure or habit.

Patterns, not just problems

Rather than treating isolated issues, we look at the patterns shaping your relationships, reactions, and choices. This is where meaningful, lasting change happens.

Real conversation, not performance

Therapy here isn’t scripted or clinical. It’s a real conversation — direct, collaborative, and grounded in what’s actually true for you.

What Sessions Are Like

Sessions are structured, but not rigid.

We follow what’s most relevant in the moment, while staying connected to the larger patterns we’re working to understand.

At times, the work is reflective — slowing things down, noticing what’s happening beneath the surface. Other times, it’s more direct — naming patterns, challenging assumptions, or looking at dynamics more clearly.

There’s room for honesty here, even when it’s uncomfortable. Especially then.

This work often centers around relationships — how you connect, how you communicate, and how you experience intimacy and sexuality.

That can include conversations about:

kink and nontraditional dynamics
polyamory or open relationships

This work is grounded in kink-aware and sex therapy, offering a space in San Francisco where these experiences can be explored without judgment.

Nothing here is treated as something to fix or pathologize — just something to understand more clearly.

This isn’t a space for quick fixes, surface-level advice, or one-size-fits-all strategies.

Not about becoming a different version of yourself.

The goal is to understand yourself more fully — so the choices you make actually feel like your own.
